I’m excited to share that my sculpture Beauty Fetish was included in the Three Rivers Juried Exhibition 2025, presented at SPACE Gallery in Pittsburgh. This competitive, juried show highlights the work of regional artists working across contemporary media. It provides a platform for visual art that reflects diverse perspectives, creativity, and cultural relevance.

The exhibition showcases a wide variety of artistic approaches selected through a competitive process. This year, artists from across the region came together to present compelling work. Visitors have the chance to explore contemporary visual art in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh and engage with the ideas shaping our cultural landscape.

About the Artworks

Beauty Fetish
soft sculpture

I seek to comment on society’s body expectation for women, and I work to shape fabric and fiber into a figural form to depict women and their struggles with body shame and the part society and media plays in that shame. I created “Beauty Fetish” to demonstrate female self-objectification, how she is taught to view herself as a consumable object by the media and then taught to present herself as an object back to society. Thus, a vicious cycle is created and continues that devalues women, her psyche, and her identity.

Being included in the Three Rivers Juried Exhibition 2025 is an exciting opportunity to share this work with a broader community. I’m grateful to SPACE Gallery and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for presenting this exhibition and supporting regional artists.

The exhibition runs through June 28, 2025 at SPACE Gallery in Pittsburgh.
